If you haven’t bought Skyrim yet, you’re missing out. I’ve been playing this game pretty much nonstop for the last few weeks and I can say without a doubt that it’s worth every penny. I’ve been playing as a wizard type character and I’ve specifically avoided the thieves guild as well as the dark brotherhood and Companions guild, and yet I’ve already got 40+ hours into the game as a level 15 character. I can’t even imagine how many hours the full campaign will take, including many of the major side-quests. The only major side quest I did was the one for the Mages guild since it fits my character.
One of the great things about it is that not only are the graphics amazing, but the leveling up is nicely balanced so that, unlike Oblivion, it’s no longer a problem to kill rats and wolves as a level 10 character. Similarly bandits now fall with ease. That was a big criticism of Oblivion is that you would have this godly character that still has trouble taking down a band of bandits. No longer.
Anyway I’m looking forward to finishing the main storyline, and once I’ve had a bit of fun with my character I might try another playthrough as a warrior that doesn’t mine stealing and killing for money.
